Hello and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you've got a problem.
Several things it could be; blown fuse, burnt out fan motor (seen this one myself on a Mk1 Punto), faulty sensor, bad wiring connection are all possibles. A competent DIY mechanic or independent garage ought to be able to work through the possibilities without needing to go online.
Be very careful about driving the car if it's overheating; the 1.2 is very prone to head gasket failure if the engine gets too hot. If you absolutely have to drive it somewhere, then (1) drive slowly (2) put the heater on maximum heat and turn the cabin fan up to maximum and (3) turn the A/C off. Driving slowly minimises the waste heat generated by the engine and turning the heater up maximises the amount of heat extracted from the coolant. Turning off the A/C significantly reduces the amount of power the engine needs to produce (particularly in traffic) and thus reduces the amount of waste heat it generates. But do get it sorted as a priority as you risk destroying the engine by continuing to drive in this condition.
Finally I'd avoid that franchised dealer; wanting £120 just to look at it is well out of order.
