fingers crossed the dealer is actually being honest for once and the car does arrive as expected. still not sure whether to go with the red or white but will definitely keep you all updated : decisions, decisions!

I had the same dilemma. In the end I decided on Gelato White, not only because it was better for advertising on but it is just nice and crisp and I thought it may age better. Love to hear what you do end up going for as they are both really nice colours. Will keep you all updated on what happens this end as well.

I get the gelato white, with ivory steering wheels and black and white seats.
The funk white is metallic white, i like solid white. red is also nice... the red is like ferrari red, just drop it, put graphite wheels, nice...

I ordered from roseberry fiat (NSW), Here's some sample pic, the colours will looks like this exactly...

JBF - I ended up getting my money back and told them to let me know when they get some in and I will look then. I'm happy with that.

Glad it got sorted out. And hopefully your not too worried about when they will come in. Cos I'm a bit stressed haha
But I'm glad you can now buy a car without feeling pressured, shouldnt have been lied to. if they let you know when one comes in (which is what I'm doing) you can just go straight and do the deal.
It's such a real pity though I think fiat is losing a lot of customers because of it. Glad I could help. Can I ask what state your in?
I'm still waiting to hear if one has turned up, but pretty worried. Not having much luck :(

Thanks ;-)
The state is Victoria. Sounds like you are getting a bit messed around too. I am positive Fiat have lost numerous sales as I know people that have looked elsewhere now. Still, I guess they have also sold stacks too so I suppose they are happy. You weren't fussed on colour either were you? And still nothing.....
Good luck with it.

Call me crazy, but why not just do a factory order?

Yeh, they've been messing me around for a couple of months. No not really fussed on colour, as long as its nice (most and not pink).
But I've honestly been having no luck with it. I'm just waiting to see if one arrives. Stressful when im not sure one will for ages.
You were looking for a Fiat 500 Pop, Automatic? (around $15500?)
And good luck with it to you as well :)

306Maxi- At this stage in the process ive had no luck on the car for a few months, and they've informed me if i order one it will not arrive till October at earliest, and am without a car at the moment. Given the problems currently, I'm not confident in the date of arrival or the fact that i'll be buying a car I cant see. I've had so many problems with Fiat so far (havent even bought one yet) that I would prefer to wait till one is there and I can make sure im 100% happy (colour, etc) and then go for it.
It's been such a problematic buying experience, looking back at the posts, it should be a lot less problematic than this.

Hey guys - sorry to hear about all the grief and fuss
Struth - we must have been lucky then

We have had the TwinAir Plus now for almost a month - was registered on 17thJune. It is Funk White which is NOT metallic, rather cream and has a Dualogic gearbox.
Been nothing but fun since - love the paddles.:D

The buying experience couldn't have been easier and was a pleasant but very busy 4 days or so. Like most, we saw the Pop at $14K and went to have a looksee. Heard a TwinAir start up and that was it for me - just like the old Bambinos we used to have years ago. Then 3 days around the dealers finally narrowed down to one with our first colour choice and auto gearbox.

Was too late to ring and order but alas first thing next morning when the wife rang to put deposit on it over the phone they said "it was already sold" - bummer - so she asked if they would drop the white/black roof TwinAir Plus to the same price of $19,500 drive away as the red Rockstar we had looked at the day before, and the sales manager agreed.
So we went and checked out the car and placed the order - we had no trade in.
In fact, the white/black roof was the wife's first choice anyway

That was Friday and we picked it up the following Wednesday all sweet no problems at all
BTW We are in SEQ but bought the car north of Brisbane

This is what we found when we arrived at the dealers to collect the car.

That's right, Pop Auto (Dualogic) in Gelato White $15,500. But, sigh....it's a no go. So you are managing without a car at all? That would be tough. You are new to Fiat too?
Maxi - I hadn't heard of a factory order.

Wow $15.5K driveaway for a Pop Dualogic is brilliant value! Just make sure it's a 2013 build, there was quite a lot of 2012 stock still around recently.

I'll say it again, I don't get why people don't just go in an order what they like? It may take a while longer, but at least you'll know that it's going to arrive (roughly), you'll know that one is definitely going to come in the spec you want as opposed to holding on for months and possibly never having one come along in the colour you like with the engine you want and so on.

Half of the beauty of the 500 is that there are different options and you can have it just how you like it. I know the temptation is always there when you can just have something there and then or perhaps just in a few weeks or a month, but if you wait a few weeks or a month and the right car doesn't turn up then you're back at square one.

You're probably look at least a 4 or 4.5 month lead time, but you'll get what you want and you'll know that you're going to get what you want ;)

Yeh its making things a bit difficult :(
I'm new to Fiat as well. I had a little look around, in case I could help and found these in VIC. Not sure if it helps but thought it might anyway.

That is very kind of you to do that ;-) & helpful. I wanted a white car to advertise on but a Sol Yellow became available and so I am going to work with that as the next best colour. I signed up for it 2 days ago and was told it will arrive at the end of this month, so that is when I have organised for the plates etc. to be ready by and then I got a call today to say it's arrived!!! YAYYY! So exciting, but I can't get it until the personalised plates arrive.....end of the month! At least I know it's here ;-)

I think that was Atteco's strategy, price through the roof, let the customer place an order and wait in the interest of exclusivity. Fiat Chrysler are chasing more of a volume market (even if they have a funny way of showing it), with more stock purchases. The option to factory order was never put forth to me, even when I asked about options. I suppose if you pushed, they'd do it, but they seem to want to avoid the hastle.

It turns out that I'm really happy with UFI's spec, but would have popped for full leather trim, and would have gone with manual AC and no S/S probably (for the weight saving).

To all people waiting for cars on order, be aware that if the dollar drops (like it has), the dealer can charge you more for your car as per the fine print on the back of your contract.

I might be getting a 1.2 Panda DL when they come here.

Same here, all the dealers I spoke to basically said that this is all they have, nothing else. Placing a custom order wasn't even an option. Once again, I find this very bizarre.

Also, I suspect custom orders would attract a higher price.

Leather? I get a sweaty enough arse here in the UK in the "summer"! It would be intolerable in Perth!

Meh, there was a time when Kingswoods came with vinyl seats and no AC.

Actually, I haven't asked the dealer what colour the steering wheel is going to be in the Sol Yellow Pop. Anyone here know? Black or white?:)
