I was wondering where the lead should be routed to from the back of the head unit? Is there any holes in the glove box or anywhere else. Thanks in advance

Is it the standard head unit you're referring to?? I didn't realise there was a 'hole for an AUX in? :s

If I'm wrong and there is you could probably route it through to the secret hatch in the Glove box?? Or depending on the length of the lead you intend to use and specification of your car you could maybe route it to your under seat storage?
Other than that maybe through to the little 'pocket' by the side of the gear box tunnel (on the drivers side if RHD)

Hm you've made me wonder now if there's a port for it in the back of the head unit but I'm sure there is as the dealer can install an iPod kit for the best part of £100 so I've bought a lead and the head unit removal key and I'll have a look tomorrow!

The iPod kit isn't an AUX lead, it's a specialised connector for the back of the HU
How old is your car?? If it has a USB plug it in through that??

As for Fiat fitting it for £100ish - try eBay and fit it yourself it's really quite easy

I've bought the lead off eBay which is made for the fiat head unit which has a 3.5mm jack on one end and a blue connector on the other which goes into the back of the head unit goes where the cd changer would if I've researched correctly. I was just wanting to know where the lead would come out of into the car

Got the head unit out plugged the lead in and it's only the wrong one!! I listened to some punk on another forum saying the lead from a blaupunkt would work so I bought that and it doesnt!!! Argh my nights ruined

What I'd do is bang that back on eBay and get yourself the proper lead from there - it'll be the blue end connected to a grey box andou connect the iPod lead into that.. You'll know which it is because it's a proper apple addaptor

I've emailed the guy see what he says! I fancy the 3.5mm jack though so I can use the iPod not just playlists! Found one for under a tenner! I had a play around with where the lead will come out of and found it can come either side of the centre console and there's a ridge that the cable fits perfectly into then I can have the iPod on one of the cup holders that don't hold cups cos they are rubbish!! I'll be back with photos when i get sorted all this because I hate CDs flying around my car

There are times when I want control of my ipod rather than have the car take over with the usb connector (audiobooks for example, or when I'm not driving and I want to play games at the same time ).

Some guy on eBay has a lead for a Grande Punto that he thinks will work on the 500 £9.99 so might be worth a go!!!!!

MY10 onwards 500s do have a female 3.5mm jack aux in as well as the USB socket - just for reference..

We had a cheapo one like that for my OHs car - it stopped working after a week
This one is still going strong, despite having the passenger seat run over the wire (oops).

Just got a Fiat 500 pop with no Blue&Me inside!! Wondering if theres anyway I can just buy a simple lead from a retailer and where I would need to plug it in? (I really don't know much about cars) HELP!!
