Recently I have noticed a increasing clunking noise from the right front of the car when going over speedbumps, small potholes etc... So I tought I would mention this when the 500 was going in for an oilchange before my Italy trip. They did a general "health" check on the car: Bleeding some air from the coolant, measure the boiling point of the brakefluid etc... But back to the noise: they discovered that the right side lower ball joint was a bit worn and tought this made the sound. As the lower ball joint is a part of the lower arm itself they will have to change the whole arm. They did not have time to do this before I go to Italy in one and a half week, but they assured me that it would not be a problem to drive with for quite a while yet. But it will be changed when I get back and the warranty covers it offcourse as I got a 5 year/ 100 000km warranty. And my car has "only" gone 36000km`s.
Have anyone else had the same thing happend to theire 500 this early? My car is a late 2008 1,2pop with 16" original wheels( which I suppose can have something to do with it).

Not something I've seen before. A bit annoying that the balljoint is integral to the arm as it will make maintenance a little more expensive. But the positive thing IMHO is that IIRC the bushes are integral as well so if you ever have to change the balljoint you get the bushes done at the same time.

If the noise was anything I'd have guessed it was the droplink which had been prone to going in some of the earlier cars.
