Hello

I was wondering would it be a good idea to fit the Abarth Goodies to my 1.4 sport.. I read a thread about fitting these goodies to a 1.2.. Which in my opinion wont match since there's a huge difference in handling and performance between A500 and a 1.2... i think the sport version is the same as the abarth without the Turbo charge...

So what.. will it all fit? ex: ECU - Brakes - Springs -17" petal alloys (LUV THEM!!)

Will the spring make a difference? I hate it when it bounces :slayer:

Will i have more BHP with the ECU?

Appreciate it!

Ecu no because it's a very different engine
Spings - yes but I'd reccomend changing dampers tbh
Brakes, as long as you change calipers, pads AND discs and any other associated assemblies then yes, otherwise no.
Wheels - yes

If you're going to spend money on brakes, I'd avoid the Abarth ones. You can buy better for the money. The Abarth ones are not that huge an upgrade over standard.

The ECU is a no no. Turbo vs non turbo. Mapping its easy enough though. I've had mine done.

Suspension, again for the cost you could probably fit a very nice set of coilovers and get a better setup than you'd get with the abarth springs.

Does that include body kits? if yes then does the exhaust system come with it or remapping would be needed to fit the tail pipes in rear bumper?

Other than that i think im gunna pay alot for things that doesnt suit me... i could get them separately like the eibach wut-ever springs lowering me like 3cm (my consultant at fiat says its the best for me?) plus those marvelous 17" petal wheels + Shipping to Egypt!

 its gunna be the same price wise?! i think

Remember that the 1.2's front discs aren't ventilated so for someone who's tough on their brakes even standard Abarth brakes would be a decent upgrade.

Agree with the suspension though.

Front bumper will fit just fine as will the sideskirts and spoiler. Rear bumper will fit but you'll need a twin exit exhaust as it has cutouts for 2 pipes.

Which would be a worthwhile point if he didn't actually have a 1.4 :D

I noticed the other day a French Fiat/Abarth dealer offers the rear Abarth bumper, exhausts for the 500...

if you want to be individual, forget bolting on bits of Abarth because it will be laughed at as an imitation

go your own way like I and Spoons have (y)
Stuff making your car look sportier! Put steelies on and make it look like a lower specced car. That's what all the cool kids are doing these days :p

Hadn't seen a pic of Spoon's car before looks really good, prefer the white wheels on your's though Rob.

Have to say outside of the petals I'd look at decent aftermarket exhausts and suspension, quite a few A500 owners are doing the same which may tell you something....

Fiat don't know **** about designing a suspension that works in the UK? :D Have to say that i really like the look of those Bravo wheels on Rob's car :) My steelies are better though :p

Wouldn't the rear springs be unsuitable though, given that the Abarth also relies on an anti-rll bar to control it in extremes? Has anybody tried to fit the Abarth springs to non-Abarth cars? Would be interesting as standard Abarth springs crop up on Ebay for next to no money, as left-over bits following the fitting of SS (as I like to call them) upgrade packs

Oh also forgot to mention they look great but the 17" Petals do tramline like mad and have all the scratch resistance of butter, do look good though. I saw some 16" OZ wheels at the weekend I really liked so may swap down to them later this year.

Tbh they're probably better than the standard springs. In theory the Abarth springs should be softish.

What OZ's? I'm a wheel whore, just have to know :D

Had to dig through the brochure at lunch, Alleggerita HLT, in matt red. All the online images made them look horrible but in the metal looked really good, slimed down version of the AC wheels (in my head anway). Would look good with the red leather/stripes/mirrors on the car.... I think
