Hi folks.
My 1st post on this forum.

I have to be honest and say that Im a big fan of the mini and the MINI and own both and have owned many of them in the past, on my 6th classic mini and now my 9th new MINI (currently a factory produced JCW 211bhp)

Any way I love the new 500 as well.
My good lady is moving jobs and is going to need a small cheap to run car to do a commute with every day. We have both pretty much decided that a 500 would fit the bill.

Took a trip to my local Fiat dealer which is unfortunatly Sir Arnolds (said I would never deal with them but not much choice). We went in to order a 1.2 pop in white with 16 inch alloys, red fabrick seats, side moulding strips and chrome kit but he said that he couldnt get me one at the base price of £8700 plus options as the price is going up, I understand the VAT but he said that they will now be getting made with stop start and that will add about £600 to the cost. Is this right?
My good lady wants to keep to a very strict budget.
He had a used pop with no options but wanted full retail new money for it and it was in blue so didnt fancy that.

They did have a new unregistered 1.2 Lounge there in white, just as the lounge comes and for £10100. Last car they can get at that price.
They offered what seems like a pretty good PCP deal on it.
£200 deposit
£177 per month x47 (8000miles per year)
final guaranteed of something like £4190.

However they wouldnt give any discount for not trading in and considering its the end of the year I thought they would like another deal. Wouldnt even give me Fiat carpet mats.

I know that the lounge offers air con and bluetooth and fixed glass roof over the pop which is good but we never actually set out to buy a lounge and spend that money.

What to do though?

I dont mind travelling to a dealer down south or up north. Anyone know if their local dealer has anything built in stock?

thanks

Sadly Ian there's very little chance of getting a discount on a 500. Some people lucky out with free mats or a tank of fuel but most people get nothing.
