so cant wait i swear a little pee came out when the dealer phoned me and said it was her lol....

Well done you for waiting!! I got a call last Thursday to say I could have mine today (Weds 26) but I am being patient and waiting until Saturday. What day are you getting yours?

We called into the dealer on Saturday to check they had received my insurance ... and spotted my car, all wet dirty and needing some tlc! They had a batch delivered last Thursday and didn't mention it!!?? Guess they were busy over Easter.

Anyway .. I have seen my baby in the flesh and I LOVE IT, really pleased I made the right choice, but it was sad to leave her there. .. Three sleeps to go.. can't wait .. keep you posted

:( well not sure now whats happening because am having my private plate put on which is already on my old car and been told it could take upto 2 weeks :(:(

was told though might be able to have it next mon/tues if i pay the retainer to keep my plate while the documents are sorted out. so fingers crossed it wont be expensive

A Cherished Transfer (putting your plate on the new car) takes 7 working days, so basically about 2 weeks with weekends, and costs £80.00

Putting your plate on Retention takes about the same time and costs £105.00, but it does mean you can take delivery of your 500 on an '08' plate whilst the retention is being done.

If you do the latter you will have to wait roughly 6 weeks for your Retention Certificate to come back from the DVLA before you can put your number on your new car.

Just for info .. I put my plate on retention (£105) before I sold my last car. It just seemed easier for me to do the paperwork as I have a DVLA office in town, I can then go and get my docs changed when I am 'happy' (not that I won't be, but have had a previous bad experience with a Mercedes dealer/Smart Car) with the 500.

Plus I just wanted to know what reg it has for if/when I ever sell it.

Also - the whole lot of docs came back within a week. The DVLA are very efficient for your £105.

Excellent news............
you get an 08 plate for a few weeks and then put your own plate on at your leisure AND get your car early!

makes sense to me.........

We are collecting ours tomorrow 9.00a.m. yipeeeee.

hope the pick up went well hope your going to get some photos on here so we can all have a look (y)

:D:D:D:D Cheers planty!

Amazing day!! Very tired after not being able to sleep for excitement last night (last 2 months!!) - Just calming down now with a beer - Italian of course!

PDH Garage in Hassocks, Sussex have been brilliant, despite being really busy and one salesman down, the service has been second to none. Even to the point of making names for each of the 500s they sell, giving out name stickers and keyrings!

So, collected 'Luciano' this morning and went on a 126 mile road test around the coast and the Downs.

I LOVE this little car. It is fun, buzzy and easy to drive, the seats are very comfortable and supportive, like the driving position, engine very quiet. Not over revving it yet, but seems very willing. Everything works nicely.

The boot carries a bottle of Mumm champagne, few bottles of beer, snacks, olives and parma ham with ease!! Well you have to wet the 'bambino's' head don't you.

Joe Public seem very interested ... and you can't help looking at yourself in shop windows as you drive by! Girly I know, but you'll be doing the same!

More pics to follow..

So glad your day went well and you love the car! I al so picked mine up today and havent stopped grinning since:D. Kevin at Rockingham Cars of Corby has been 100% brilliant and can recommend them to anyone! :) The only downside was the weather, sunny all morning til it was time to go pick her up then overcast amd poured down, consequencly no piccies yet:(
The drive was far better than I remembered in the 1.4 sport that I test drove! I have got the 1.2 Lounge and loved the ride, the seats, the sunroof,in fact everything, was driving home looking like a right idiot with a huge grin on my face lol!!Have managed to pair up my phone but havent tried the mp3 out yet.
While at the garage double checked the loose bolt issue! but mine was fine! Kevin even showed me that I do have a spare tyre as he said there had been an issue with some not having them!!
Cant wait for tomorrow so that I can go out and drive round some more and test out more of the gadgets!
The only very very minor point is that I had asked for the number plate to be stuck on.....it isnt!! but am going to get new plates anyway so will hopefully stick these on ok:confused:
To all those still waiting....it really really is worth it!:D cant believe how a little yellow lump of metal can make me feel sooo happy:) just got to decide on a definate name for her/him now!

nice one you two am glad everything has gone good for you both i have used piccadilly motors in wakefield and they have been fantastic too, (so dont know why fiat dealers have a bad name as the two i have dealt with have been spot on)

So excited about tues 1pm cant come soon enough, mines going on a test drive to scarbourgh when i pick her up, still not thought of a name yet thought lol,

happy motoring all of you (y)
