My dealer said that Fiat had made some sort of mistake on their website and that you couldnt order an ivory gearstick.

Does anyone else know anyhting about this?

I really want an ivory gearstick!

My dealer said thought it would be available next month.

I saw the metal plate on a car at the dealers but thought it was just an option available for the sports model. I can't see the relation between the metal plate and the gear knob. Surely the knob just screws on?

How much is the factory fit?

the gear knob has no numbers on it so the metal plate has the numbers. costs fifty bucks factory fitted.

thats expensive compared to a factory fit. also with the factory fit you get a metal plate on the gear cover that shows all the gear positions.

Does anyone have a photo of the ivory gearstick with the metal plate/numbers on? Would have ordered one if I'd known about it, but the only one shown on the Fiat website was plain ivory and I wasn't so keen...

why yes, i do.

Why, thank you very much! I see what you mean, might go for it now that I've seen what it's like, though I'd like the ivory gaiter to go with it I think, which I've read you just have to make sure is mentioned when you order...

When I ordered mine on Feb 2nd, my dealer said Fiat were no longer allowing any changes once ordered, and if you wanted to add/change something, you'd have to start again and go to the back of the queue. Does anyone know if this is right or are they just having me on...? I don't think the ivory gear stick is limited stock after all...

BTW, nice choice on your car, XIIX - looks a lot like mine!

You cant make any changes to the type, ie, Sport or the engine up to 4 weeks before the car is confirmed for build (heavy variability they call it) but you can change things like interior, alloys etc up to 2 weeks before your car is confirmed for build, ie what build week it is).

There have been instance where the Fiat ordering system changes the status on your car thereby you wont be able to make any changes.

You are allowed to make pretty much any change you want to the car up to 2 weeks before, except for the model and engine as mentioned previously and if your dealer say otherwise I dont think they are being very honest.

Some will say you cant make changes because they dont want to have to deal with customers changing their mind all the time (like me :)) but if your car has not been confirmed for build you can add the Ivory Gear knob if you want.
