General 500 Trade ins The MINI is Beaten!

How about FIAT dealers having a dedicated Tech who gets out and about in a van fixing the minor warranty faults on site at home or work? This would save a lot of expensive Workshop man-hours and really please the Customers!

I looked into this a while back, however Fiat themselves seemed uninterested & the large dealerships wouldn't be happy about the expense of kitting out a van & the wasted man hours travelling between jobs.Although I agree with you totally.

Same here Nuova! A few months ago I decided I wasn't going to get a 500, even though ever since seeing the Trepiuno concept I knew I had to have one. There was so much hype and I just cringed at the whole 'fashion' aspect of it. I'm a big fan of small cars and will probably never own anything bigger than a Punto/Fiesta/Clio and the 500 is just perfect. I decided to just go for it at the beginning of January and haven't regreted it since! :)

Why not just embrace all 500 owners whatever their motivation. Car ownership isn't a cartel. A bit of inverse snobery being demonstrated here perhaps?;)

When did I say I wasn't going to embrace all 500 owners or exclude people who bought the 500 because it's car the car to be seen in? No snobbery here at all. If someone buys the 500 simply because it's the latest 'must have' fashion accessory that's fine by me, it just wasn't my motive or reason to buy the car, and admitedly it did put me off at the first. But surely the fact that I've bought one shows that I'm not bothered about other peoples buying motives. I may cringe at all the hype, but that's not saying I wish to exclude 'non-purest' 500 owners.

:hm:

Pleased to here you're not excluding the ultra fashion conscious X-reg 1.2 Clio owners like me.:D

Aaah well you see T, we were asked by you "what would you do if you were in control"? or similar. :)

Well thats what I would do, and maybe there is an insight here into why FIAT wont ever lead the pack but will always follow? ;)

These days something new is innovative, making a Customer feel valued and wanted should be a given, dont FIAT understand yet that as well as producing clean lined cars with all the latin splendour (and temperament) that they are capable of, they need to speculate to accumulate....

I think personality profiling by a psychologist would be a big help in selecting reception desk staff.

You can choose( real life examples I know) between the `shifty eyed` who wont make eye contact if he can help it, or the bland smile less young women who decline to use your first name, on being asked to.
(offensive or what? given that the preference could be logged on the vehicles `log`)

Or you could go to the dealership that has the service manager at the desk, who can smile, call you by first name and discuss the issue.

Psychological assessment of the `non tech` receptionist would be worth its weight in gold when contrasted with the difficulty after employment in sacking the customer relationship damaging duffers.

Can`t smile? make eye contact? or use a first name if requested? can`t be honest?
Best in the back then out of customer contact.

No I agree as i said, perhaps Fiat themselves could fund it? 'Fiat rapid response' or something:confused: I'd be interested in that:) But then again its the expense of a fully equiped van with examiner etc:(
