Just to let everyone know...
have been having talks with Powerlite (Brierly Hill not too far from me..)
they make Dynalite Alternators...
Basically an Alternator that looks like an Original Dynamo....
They are popular on Lotus/Ford and MG/Minis as well as many other makes....
basically maintains the original look but with an updated alternator...
Their other selling point is whilst they are expensive they give a lifetime warranty....


The number of enquires for Fiat 500s has reached a point that they are considering producing them....

I have suggested that there is someone who drives a Fiat 500 so regularly he cold be considered a long term Fiat 500 Tester....

That's very interesting Peter. Early in 2019 (pre-Covid) I was speaking to the boss of Powerlite, at a classic car show, about just that subject. His answer at the time was "no"; very interesting that they are now thinking of doing a dynamo/alternator for the 500.

Well there is a possibility of them doing a couple of "One Off" conversions for testing....

I have offered to source and supply a couple of Dynamos for them to build test units....

They may do them on a "As and when" service, but obviously this would be more expensive rather than having stock....

Sounds great. I live in Kinver, near Stourbridge, and have been considering this mod for a while now. I already have a Powerlite starter motor! Let me know if they'd like a local owner less than 15 mins drive away!

Why not give them a ring Peter--you have nothing to lose. Or, even better--just turn upon their doorstep--at the least they will have to speak to you!

By the way---have you booked in for the 3rd October at Alderford Lake?
