Just received our 126 after it shipped from Italy to the US and cannot open the front boot (truck). Tried the release (lower left on drivers side (LHD). Appears the cable to unlatch the hood has been stretched or the latch mechanism has seized for some reason. Any suggestions on how to get it open. Thanks... picture just for attention.

A wee bang with the palm of the hand in the area of the latch just below the windscreen while someone else holds the lever in the open position might release it.

Thank you... finally got it open by using a suggestion from another forum: I was able to take the left side headlight out and reach back to release the latch. Some light cleaning and lube, and it's functioning correctly now.
