I need to remove the front panels on my car for replacement. Seems there's a bit of rust in there...
Does anyone have step by step pics of how its done?
I've already started and it seems its quite easy to damage adjacent panels if not done right.
I know its all spot welded together but just after a bit of a guide.

I need to replace the front panel, both guards and both inner guards plus the inner tray. Probably other bits that join on to them as well.

Thanks in advance

Hi I don't have any photos but I've done most of what you want to do (Barr the inner wings). I started on the front panel. I cut using an angle grinder with a cutting disc down the seam below each of the headlights then using a spot weld rememoving drill bit go along the bottom and unpick all the welds then at the top at each corner there's about three there then there some on the bumper reinforcer (where the bumper bolts go through). The wings are tricky you have to remove the doors and unpick the welds on the A posts then cut out the small panel above the wing that holds the little indicator. Then unpick all the welds behind it (the top corner of the wing is sandwiched between no less than three pieces of body work) then unpick the welds along the top edge (accessible from inside the luggage compartment ) then unpick the ones inside the lip of the wheel arch.

My tip would be to rough cut the wings out around the arch to get the baulk of the wing out of the way then concentrate on getting the bits that are still stuck on.

Other word of warning buy really good parts! I bought cheap pattern parts and were an absolute nightmare to align up. These three parts all need to be spot on as the bonnet won't sit on and line up with with the wing and the windscreen scuttle and will look awful (y)

Haha. I really wish i didnt have to do all this but it is what it is. Just adds more time onto the project.
There seems to be a lot of individual panels that make up the car. I wish it was easier to get apart.
Being the parts have to come to Australia i dont want to order them until i have it completely apart. Saves me from having to wait 6 weeks for that one part i forgot :/

Slow and steady right...
