I am doing a rolling restoration on a 1981 Anniversary Edition Spider #289. Upon completion I plan to sell it. I have done one restoration for a friend in the past and have a 1980 Fuel Injection Spider as my keeper. The car is presently painted a GM Torch Red #70 according to the paint supply house color gun. A 10 year old paint job that is in good shape as the car has not been driven and was mostly under cover. The engine compartment and trunk were not painted and are the original Champagne color, altho they will need to be repainted, whether in the red, or the original Champagne color if I decide to go with the original color. There is the trunk lid and three rust areas that will have to be fixed, and paint blended if in the red, or repainted along with the rest of the car if in the Champagne. Blending in Red will probably be difficult as the Red has faded some.My question is "What are my chances of recouping the added expenses in paint and labor if I repaint the whole car in the original Champagne color, plus at least some additional profit, when I sell it?"Thanks in advance for your input.Jim GordonHouston, [email protected]281-222-6619
