Perhaps you should have a look at the pics again, and perhaps your own dipstick. The round section has been squashed, leaving a flat psrt, which is knurled. Max and Min are the top and bottom of that knurled flat part. This is similar to every dipstick, and should be part of the teaching received from any driving instructor.Maybe such a seemingly easy thing to do, but the manual tells you how to check the oil level (check that the engine oil level is between the MIN and MAX reference points stamped on the dipstick). However, there are no such points on the dipstick, the oil level should be in the middle of that round smooth section (that's what the mechanic told me).
