Technical Surging under engine braking at low speed...

Fiat Ducato MH 2017 2.3 150bhp; strange one started after a long run, surging feeling under engine braking at low speed only, no noticable rev increase/decrease, no engine lights & otherwise running perfect...anyone out there experienced the same? If yes, possible diagnosis? Thanks in anticipation.
