oil kept it going

I was driving my Fiat when a fan bearing seized. Not having any tools with me I used the dipstick to dribble oil on the bearing and it worked! It got me home, anout 50 miles away. I can't remember whether it was the cinquecento ot the 128. Could it have been the 500? Is the fan bearing accessible like that?

Oil any shape and form is better then no lubrication

Thin - thick - old, if it needs lubrication and it has none, anything is better then nothing

Engine oil - when warm may be thin enough to seap into a bearing
cold (5degs outside cold) Wont do jack, it'll be too viscous
