Hi
I have a 2008 ducato 2.3, I had been having battery issues so had put the battery on charge for a few hours Friday morning, battery still in the van and connected.
Went to go out and it started but eml was on , drove it less than half mile, it didn't feel right so when I stopped turned it off and re started it.
All ok.
2 hours later to go home turns over but will not fire , help.
It did this before and the timing belt had slipped could it be this again.

It could be a number of things.
What caused belt to "slip" first time?

I was taking my race car to a car show that was on a field and I had lots of wheel slip and loss of traction.
Didn't know till I went to go later it would not start , then after many tries it started but was in limp home mode.
Think this time it was ice on the belt.

Good luck
Fingers xed it will be something simple and cheaper than timing belt problems.
It could well be something else given that it ran ok with no eml on second attempt before setting off for show.

Please let us know the outcome when you know

So update my mate came round and re set the timing, with pins .
Trial start up and yes it ran but we were not happy with the belt so decided to get a new belt kit , so just put that on.
All timed up but now won't start .
Any help would be appreciated.
