General Lost Key

I've lost my only car key for my Punto! If i were to accidentally of left the key in the car therefore not personally locking the car would the car lock itself after a period of time with the no keys in the ignition?

Just wondering as this might solve the lost key problem!

Otherwise i have to pay 188 pound for a new key woohoo!

The car won't auto lock if you haven't initially locked it unless there is a fault with it so it's unlikely to be in the car unless you've opened the boot with the popper and then shut the boot with the key in it
