I picked up and engine to replace my blown motor in my 2012 500 Sport. I was told it was a non-turbo engine with 27k miles on it. It does look like a low mileage engine, but it looks like a turbo engine. The ID I got off the engine is 1879566 the number above it has a little rust on it and difficult to tell what it is, possibly 338R1047. Any idea how to tell the difference between a turbo and non-turbo? It did not come with the turbo, of course, or the intake manifold.

I'm going to move forward with building this as a turbo car, so would anyone know how to pick the correct ECU and BCM? I don't have the VIN number of the car it came from? Would I only need to ensure they're for a turbo motor?

I don't know for a fact, so wise to verify, but I believe most modern car BCMs and ECU have Vin. Number and specific details and mileage, related to that vehicle embedded in the chips etc. so may be a problem.
Hopefully someone on Fiat Forum has specialist knowledge re this or a good car tuning/ECU expert can advise better. :)

I thought All of the NA market
(Mexico built). 500's were the 1400cc multi air turbo?

Is your vehicle Non. Turbo?
yes, my vehicle is a non-turbo and I have a turbo motor. At this point, I'm just going to pull the stuff off the old motor and put it in without the turbo
