General Door check straps

Hi there
My door check straps are real noisy and clicky.
I think the previous owner must have washed all the grease off them to keep his coat clean or something!!!

Anyways having looked at them briefly I think the wear on them is at the pivot point where they meet the door.
Anyone drill these out bigger and press in a new collar or any other novel fixes??
They are £30 each which is excessive.

to be honest mine broke on the driver's side and it was quite easy to replace. I've seen them on ebay for around 20.00 squids

I've no doubt they are easy replace... It's the cost of them I've issue with hence my question regarding any clever repair ideas..anyone??
