Hi All,

Excuse me for the choice of words but hey I am dutch LOL. I have a question about the central door locking. I have a key with a button, but I do not know what the function of it is. I have central door locking but only when the key is in the lock. Does anyone know why there is a button on the key and if the central locking with remote was a standard on the ELX or an extra?
My second question, how do I remove the fuse with the cage around it? :)

Thanks in advance

The button on the remote should unlock all the doors. Does a small red light flash on the key when you press the button? If not the battery might be flat. If it's not the battery, er not sure what to do! Could be expensive to get it working again as might need re-coding (Fiat job?)

Yes the light does flash. Maybe it's just a fuse, but it's the one in a cage. I'll try to check it tomorrow. Thanks for your reply

well it's not the fuse. I will take it to a fiat specialist and hear what hee has to say

My 115 ELX doesn't have remote central locking.
Both the keys that came with it have the button, but nothing inside them (no circuitry, battery, or anything else).
I'm guessing it was an option.

Even if the MOTA did have the FOB lock / alarm feature, they can go wrong if the battery is ever disconnected because they lose synch with the ECM module.

- so get them antiquated, make them re-marry!

- turn the key to the start POS but do not START the engine

- then lock and unlock the doors FROM the FOB several times
- - - this will re-marry the KEYFOB and the PUTER

- get out of the car and lock in the usual way with the KEYFOB

Does that work ? .. .. if not as BikeDoc says it was 'maybe' not paid for / not activated / and the wrong FOB

sorry for the late reply. The key does have a circuit inside it. I will get them to remarry. I do not hope it was a messy divorce. By the way what is fob?
