General Alfa 147 seats in punto, airbag?

Morning all,

I have seen plenty of posts referring to swapping the seats on a mk2 with those out of an Alfa 147 which I'm happy to attempt, however I've seen the airbag question asked a few times but no definitive answer.

If I get front seats from a 147 am I able to connect the airbags or will they deploy? I assume connectors are the same. I've seen comments about the seats 'knowing' that someone is on them but I'm sure my mk2 sporting doesn't have this.

Off to scrappy over this weekend.

Yes it does: 6 in total. Steering wheel, dash, a pillars and seats.

I would leave well alone, talk to a re-upholsterer if you want leather in your car, different airbags in a 147 which deploy in a different way being put into a Punto could make them dangerous in the even of an accident

I have done the swap and it is best to just leave the air bag well alone that way you do not have to worry about wiring correctly and it could be a potential hazard if not done right.

Ok sounds like if I go for it I'll leave the airbags well alone. Did you have to do the resistor trick to fool the car into thinking the airbags are connected?
