Picked up a 2003 dynamic stilo last week to use as a daily runner.

It runs great but has some of the common stilo faults.

Gear stick if stiff from side to side, it's fine front and back. I'm guessing the cables need greasing.

Now the good stuff.
I've got the big electrical fault, which includes power steering, and instrument cluster.

So far I've removed the fusebox, stripped cleaned it. Also cleaned the d4 connector.

Next I'm thinking of checking the cables to the alternator. Going to test it first with multimeter.

It's a strange thing. LCD would display everything normal. Then there was no display, just the orange back light. Then the back light would flicker, even with the ignition off. Then all the gauges failed but the flickering continued.
I've pulled the instrument cluster out and it's a scrap yard replacement.

Just thought I would get your input. I can't imagine it being the ECU as the car runs and drives.

Thanks Artermis. The body work and mexhanicals are in excellent condition. It's just the dash problem. But for what it cost me I can keep it and make it a project without losing money.

My stilo is now a perfect motor. Sorted the dash issue by simply cleaning the circuit board. There were alot of crap on the inside. The smile on my face when the mileage popped up instead of a blank screen was epic. I had to replace a stepper motor because I pulled it off (big mistake) but now it's perfect. Thanks for all the help
