Hi guys,

My 2.4 manual has an odd problem.

When cold, pulling away at a junction, 1st is fine, change up to 2nd, push down the accelerator and nothing. . Perhaps a tad of vibration for a couple of seconds before the acceleration kicks back in and it's back to normal.

Could this be the clutch, or a misfire?

Yeah only when cold and no errors. I found a lot of old threads to people saying their's would kangaroo in the same circumstances, but it's no that bad.

Thanks for the advice - hooked it up to the multiecuscan software. I'm getting an intermittent code for the lambda sensor above the cat. I don't think you can measure the injectors in real time.

you can monitor Spark advance, and injection timing for all the cylinders as well as injector opening time adjustment... you might also want to monitor Knock sensor, although that would probably show up with the spark advance. it would give you an idea if the ECU was messing with the fuel side of things.

could also be a intake, so have a look at the various air quantity and sensor values aswell as VIS status (IIRC VIS is electronically controlled)

seems a little strange it does it only in 2nd, maybe its just more promanent in 2nd. i could post in the Coupe forum if you're not already a member. they might have a bit more of a clue

Thanks for this,

I'll hook it up later and give it a try. You're right though, it does do it in any gear and I'm not sure it's only when cold . . .

Will let you know results.
