Hi there,

First time to post, I have a Fiat stilo 2.0 semi auto.
Since I've had the car when you central lock the car, the hazard lights flat a few times and then about 5 seconds later they flash again, when I turn the ignition upon getting back in the car it says alarm failure, but should I leave kids in car and lock them in, I then got back in and it says attempted theft, no alarm goes off though???
Thoughts on this please?

Secondly I had intermittent airbag issues on dash telling me to stop driving (ok) then sometimes it would go. Now I get it bleep and flash about 4 times (I cancel it out by pressing the button you use for the dash display) sorry if it makes no sense.

I'm a hands on will try most things out for myself kinda girl, so any help, with description of how to try and rid these issues would be a great help.

Love my stilo and these issues gone I'd keep the far forever.

Hello n welcome

The issues you have with the car are fixable though will require you to have the fault codes read either using registerd version of multiscan software or similar euipment.

My guess is that for your alarm problem is that the siren has become faulty, as few years back mine also gave a security warning when starting car after unlocking and the alarm sounder was at fault, you can adjust the alarm settings and set the alarm function to another country setting so this disables this function so the fault no longer shows when starting, but still allows your indicators to flash and the led red door light will still flash, this reuires you to get the 5 didgit electronic security code only available from fiat prices vary up to £45 depending on dealer, then using registerd version of multiscan you are able to change the alarm settings. As for leaving your little ones in the car well that depends how naughty they have been :) myself would see no problem it is only the alarm that is at fault and as it does not work will not go off and you will have the key to get in the car either using the remote function or key in the door, however I would stay away from using the deadlock function as should one of your doors fail to unlock from using the deadlock option it can be very difficult to gain entry to the car

As for your airbag warning again you would require to have the fault codes read to help pin point the area of the fault it could well just be a bad connector the usual one being under the seat or the sensor in the passenger seat being faulty which if so can be fixed by fitting a emulator box, or even sensor/connector letting the car know if you are wearing the seatbelt, though as said having the fault code will help.

Do not be tempted to go playing with the air bag connectors or anything to do with the airbag system unless you have dis-connected the main car battery for at least 30 mins before looking into airbad connectors.

Both issuses you have with the stilo would require diagnostic equipment to help fix, perhaps someone local to you has a registerd version of the multiscan software to look into your faults, though for the alarm should you wish to change the settings would require the electronic codes as above.

Good luck
