Hi all.

I can take the 3 beeps no more!! Had a play with the underseat connections etc, there's no lumps in the seat, sometimes the light will come on or go off whether unoccupied or not.

So I'm thinking about an emulator, however most carry warnings about no baby seats etc in the front.

When I have my kids at weekends my 5 year old insists on sitting in the front. Basically is it safe to have him in the front still with an emulator fitted, he's still in an intermediate child seat, ie base and back.

If an emulator is fitted thus fooling the airbag system into thinking an adult is sat in the seat, this will only then make the system the same as if I were carting him around in a car that didn't have multi-stage bags wouldn't it?

If it is safe, would it be best to turn the passenger airbag off or leave it switched on?

Why don't you insist on having him/her in the rear seat?

Are you sure you have OCS? Check for cloth tag on the seat base.
Childrens seats wrecks the OCS fibreoptics with hard plastic edges.

Have you had your car hooked up to either Fiat's Examiner to see what part of the Airbag system is faulty?

The emulator (if it works) will emulate an adult person sitting in the passengers seat.

Ok cheers for the advice.

Yeah I have warned him he might have to go in the back but he loves riding up front so I just thought Id ask, if people said yeah its fine with an emulator then all good.

Yeah Ive gone into the system with FES and it says passenger weight sensor, Ive tightened the connections on the grey 3-pin connector but the lamp still now comes on if someone sits in the seat.
