Hi all, I have had my water pump and timing belt changed, now the problem I'm getting is that the coolant disappears when I drive the car and if I open the coolant cap it gushes out, it has also done this when I opened it after leaving the car overnight. The pipes become one very stiff also. Is it blockage or something more and worse. I need your help guys....eagerly awaiting responses on what to do thanks
Stan

Only after the pump change? There was no issue before?
Not sure what gasket on pump is made of but could a piece gone into system?
Not sure why you still have pressure next day id have thought itd disipate overnight.

Yes this has only happened after the pump change. ive been told my model is the one made in Italy, if that helps to tell me if there are 3 or 4 bleeding points. Also where do I find these if that's not asking for too much.

Thanks Guys.

There should be one on one of the heater pipes close to where they go through the bulkhead behind the engine.

One on the back top right corner of the radiator (as viewed from the front of of the car).

One on each of the metal water pipes across the front of the engine. Some don't have both of these two.

Thankyou, I hope this works as the mechanic I had the pump changed from doesn't know this as he just started the car kept the cap open on the coolant bottle and left it running until the heaters warmed up. COWBOY mechanic one of those that thinks they know it all. Am I pushing it by asking what the procedure is........please.....pretty please. thanks again mate. I can see the two yellow line you have marked and I know where the radiator one is any chance to mark the one at the back of the engine so I know roughly where I should be looking.:worship::worship:

Fill the resevoir then open one bleed screw at a time (starting with the lowest one) until coolant comes out free of bubbles, then close the screw. Repeat with the next highest one until all 3 or 4 are done.

Picture below shows the bleed screw on the heater pipe.

Not sure about the 1.2 engine, but I believe all engines have at least the radiator and heater hose bleed screws.
.

You wouldn't happen to have a pic of the radiator bleed screw location? :p eLearn has some generic picture and I can't find anything on or near any of the hoses at the radiator :s

I'm only concerned as I don't want to miss this out when bleeding the cooling system when fitting my new engine in case it leads to more problems...

This eBay picture claims to be of a 1.2 radiator, and shows the bleed screw located on the top back left (as viewed from the front of the car) of the radiator.

Cool, other listings of 1.2 Radiators seem to show a bleed screw as well. Problem is, it doesn't seem accessible with removing the plastic radiator and fan housing? If that's the case how do I remove this?

thanks a lot mate will be doing this in a couple of days as busy with family as we have a religious celebration tomorrow. Also may sound a bit stupid but do I have the care running? I think the answer is yes but just want to make sure I do it correctly. Will let you know how I get on. Thanks once again.

Hi,
Could you say part number of this bleed screw for me?
I can't find it in eper :(

Checked on my copy of ePER, and the heater pipe bleed screw is not shown as a seperate part.

Check if the radiator bleed screw fits the heater pipe. That one is shown seperately. If it doesn't fit, then you will need to find a normal screw and fibre washer to fit it.

Thanks for answer. I already place a normal screw, but without fibre washer.
