Hi, can anyone help, on the the attached photo is my body computer at the bottom and one I got from ebay, the numbers on the barcode sticker do match is it possible to get the top one mapped to my car? Also does anyone have any idea roughly it would cost to get a body computer mapped to the car?

body computers are ordered by chassis number so unless you also have the ecu, keys, locks from the car the body computer came from it's a waste of time no matter if the numbers match or not.

Thanks very much T14086 now you have explained that I now know I need to get my body ECU repaired. Bri1232 if you had put a helpful answer like T14086 on my original post I would not have started another one!!

Hi, I fitted the new fuse box still getting error codes u1600 and u1700 and display saying loose connection, I think this narrows the problem down to the body ECU ??? If I connect the body ECU that came with the new fuse box all of display lights and I don't get loose connection, It says car security failure and EBD failure I am assuming this is because the new body ECU is not mapped to the car?. any suggestions where I should go now? Do I send the original body ECU to be repaired or is it possible to get the new ECU working on the car and if so what is involved? Any help appreciated ( PS I have already had the engine ECU repaired)

I took the above quote from your other thread, firstly remember the fusebox sits on the body computer, the fusebox should be interchangeable through most model versions but body computer not...hence the 'car security failure' warning message.

I would, personally, be measuring the CAN network resistance as I suspect a wiring fault (this normally happens around the infamous D4 connector underneath engine bay fusebox) however may I strongly suggest you start from the beginning and let us know everything...the key to accurate diagnosis is information:)

when the numbers on the BC match it's possible to swap the microprocessor or eeprom inside to transfer your car's specific data.
This should be done by somebody with good (de)soldering skills, it's not a simple DIY job without the proper skills.
That way the donor BC would work just like the old one (with matching type numbers)
But of course you should check all external factors before doing this - you have to be 100% sure your problem is within the BC.

Hi All,

Is there a guide or can someone guide me through removal of the fuseboard and body computer please?

I need to give it a proper clean over the holidays in a hope to clear up some problems... otherwise I fear this may be the end of a 12 year relationship with my car...
