Hi all, i bought a 1 owner stilo jtd 115 multiwagon with fsh last week from a used car dealer, drove it for 2 miles, was giving it a bit going up a hill and i got the engine management light and fault display come up on the dash and it goes into limp mode. i took it straight back, they plugged it in and it came up saying over boost pressure. i didn't get the code as i was sneaking a look over the guys shoulder. I also noticed it was displaying some kind of a/c code as well. The garage re-set the code and off i went feeling a bit miffed.

Since then it has happened a further 4 times, it only does it when the engine is under load, ie, pulling up an incline, i can nail it on level ground and its not a problem. A few restarts and the light goes out.

My car also has sweet f/a below 2500 rpm, hit 2500 and off i go, below that its like driving miss daisy. The car came with one months warranty, so as you can imagine i want the dealer to sort it out, not me.

I've searched the forum which is a mine of info and self diagnosed that the boost selonoid valve is the culprit, its still under the nsf arch. Am i on the right track or am i missing something.

While searching for answers to my problem i stumbled across several egr threads. I read them all but still feel slightly confused. The main areas of confusion are

1. Would a blocked egr cause my problems
2. Blanking plates, do they work / cause further problems / 9mm hole or solid plate.

I'm taking the car back to the dealer on monday after work and would prefer to go in " fully armed " so to speak.

Any advice would be most gratefully received.
