Hi Peps, I have a new oil level sensor awaiting fitting. (to attempt to banish my stilo's preponderance to give me erratic and eroneous oil level warnings) Has anyone changed one before? Can anyone offer "how-to" fitting advice? much appreciated. Thanks.
(I have checked the "stilo guides" and i don't see a listing there, however I found a guide in the JTD punto section - are the steps listed there the same as on the jtd stilo? https://www.fiatforum.com/punto-guides/147923-fiat-jtd-crank-rpm-sensor-removal-replacement.html)

haha, i found the oil level sensor. its at the back end of the engine same as the crank sensor. lying under the car looking up it is clearly visible just above the axle. Mine has a green oblong connector. Pushing up and in on the locking clip from the top part of the connector allowed it to easily pop off. (This revealed the top to be a 3pin female connector). Then a deep 19m soocket gently down over the green plastic top onto the brass nut, a hard shove and hey presto it's loosened and coming out. The sensor has a probe on the end which must go 3 or 4 inches into the bottom of the sump.
As to be expected it was completely unlike the new replacement part i had been sent from the dealer! so i will live with the existing one a while longer, hey ho!
anyhow - once it get a swop for the correct part it will be no problem fitting the replacement.
good luck
