Some scrote has stolen the catalytic converter from our '04 plate Scudo 2.0JTD  You gotta love battery powered grinders....Not!

What effect would I expect if I just de-cat and join the pipes? Any other mods needed?

What success have people had with cheap non-approved Cats from eBay?

Thanks

I think that MOT regs say you must have a cat, but I am not sure about that.

A fairly recent change in the law says you must have any emissions control equipment that was part of the vehicle when new, even if it doesn't need it to pass the requirements in place when registered. Since last year the MOT includes a check that CATs, DPFs etc are fitted. So if you put a straight pipe in it will fail the MOT.
