Hi everyone, just wondering if 205/50/16 tyres will fit my Fiat Punto Mia or is it a stupid idea?

Depending on your rim size Yes

However 205 Is very wide for the punto
Its a light car - they have narrow tyres so that what weight it has gives the tyres chance to grip

You may find that 205's will cause even worse understeer - More chances of aqua plaining - if the fronts grip enough the chances are the back will want to step out

plus there is the potential for Rubbing to occour

They will fit ok without rubbing/touching, if your ET is ok and rim is a 7j.

Also take into consideration, the price of 16" tyres, 14, 15's are alot cheaper.

I ran 205/45/r16, no oversteer or understeer, very good grip in wet, but these where Bridgestone Turanza's, you could get a budget tyre that would be useless in the wet.

17's need suspension work so you dont drive a pram + i dont advise cause of the gearbox's been rubbish
16' Know for expensive rubber - dont ask me why? but again go too large on the g.box and expect problems

15's - Fiat fit them for alloys - 15's look just right too, so i'd say stick to 15", there okay price for rubber too! :)

14's is steely size, fairly cheap too for rubber, but its your call :)

Thanks guys, desperate for alloys starting to make my car look better currently have basic tyres on 14inch steel wheels atm and its horrible in the wet, so would 195/45/15's be better, i can get some 15inch wheels with falken tyres, would that work and possibly improve handing aswell as the look of my car?:)

yeah, i am going to tell them im 17 so wouldn't want any bother with the law, just want to make my car look better, already ordered a private reg of my initals. so do you think 195/45/15 would fit? and would it improve handling(especially if its got some decent tyres on possibly pirelli's.) cheers once again:)

what are the wheels off?

there are 2 sets of 4 in looking at: 1st set is off a mk1 golf there BBS multistud, but there go on 4stud, 195/45/15, and says its 4x100(but ive no idea what that means heard my punto is 4x98?) 2nd set is off a volvo there 4 stud same size as the golf ones but no idea if they are 4x100 or what im afraid. i like the golf ones the best, would they fit?

4x100 will fit with wobbly bolts but only if the centre hole is the right size or bigger so you can make it the right size with spigot rings.

Also the offset (ET) has to be right too. there is more info in the faqs link is in your sig.

really to save any hassle its best to just get some mk2 sporting wheels

Thanks guys, would 165/60/R14's fit, there off a ford, otherwise im just gonna buy some fiat punto mk1 abarths and whack them on :)

Would you be able to link me those mk2 sporting wheels, thats would be a massive help!
and i apologise for being **** poor, i'm only 17 and its my first car so im literally learning everything from mistakes away from the road.
thanks :)
