Morning all,

A friend's 04 plate Corsa CDTi is coming to the end of it's life (clutch slipping & 160K) and it will be scrapped.

I can rape and pillage (who doesn't like a good rape and pillage) the Corsa to my heart's content for my own JTD Panda (05 plate), hence the slightly misgiving title

What parts are shared even if the part numbers are different (see Fiat 500 axle vs Fiat Panda back axle).

Turbo's, injectors (even if they will need recoding), injector rails....the list could go on. I am not bothered about tyres and other such hardwear items and obviously body parts aren't carry over, although I might pinch the rear wiper/motor if it will bodge.

Thanks in advance.

Think the turbo may be different. Otherwise engines are theoretically the same. Not sure about much else - was a different platform, so I suspect odd parts may fit, but most won't.
Be nice to know of any parts you find that are identical. Seem to be a lot more busted Corsas than Pandas around.

Corsas are more popular with car busting young blokes than "girly" Pandas. ;)

If you grab all the good bits you may have to pay a scrap yard to take the remaining debris away.

By the way what does a Corsa clutch cost? Is it "that" much more than a Panda?

Most of the Corsas round here seem to be driven (aggressively and badly) by girls (and they all seem to have silly exhausts and wheels).
Used to be the favourite with the boys, but I guess they've moved on to something else. VW Polos seem to be the current flavour for the spotty annoying ones.
Quite a few of the more socially developed seem to be going for Pandas or Punto 1.2s though.
Maybe there's hope.

TBH the old boat tail Punto Mk2 (narrow headlights) is still a great looking car especially the three door higher spec models. Not many about these days. :(

The Corsa has indeed been driven by one of the 'fast & furious' types hence the reason why the clutch slips in 5th, 4th and 3rd - you get the picture. This person's previous car was a rather attractive blue 53 plate Alfa 156 JTD, a 1.9 sadly and not the sonorous 5 cylinder 2.4, nevertheless that lasted for a massive 2 months before apparently the clutch slave cylinder cried enough is enough (the dual mass flywheel and clutch were also seeking an early retirement). The Corsa was bought for £160 and the Alfa for £230 from a well known auction site. It seems the young'un now just buy to kill nowadays. I was there when the Alfa was scrapped for £20...........The interior, whilst not leather, was beautiful and could have served as rather nce chairs to sit in come the summer in the back garden. Yes I am older than 40.

Anyway, I realise I am drifting off topic, had this been a general discussion point and not a technical one, that might be fine. I will as irc states, I will try and find out which parts do fit and are transferable for our mutual benefit (in the same manner as Fiat 500 axles have been identified as donor parts albeit slightly increasing track too). One final point to add, the Corsa when I am finished with it will not be my responsibility to dispose off, the V5C will still be in his name.
