Hey guys I've just purchased a panda 100HP and I'm looking at an induction kit. I read that the gsr is the dogs dangles but can't get them anywhere so I'm looking at the k&n. Question is do you get the pipework with the come kit or is it just the cone?

Thanks Ian.

Thanks for that. Yeah I've read that post and it seems really good. I'm mainly after the noise but I do love the look of a nice big cone filter sat in an engine bay.

Problem is, the engine bay is small, so with a cone in the bay you're dragging in most hot air rather than pulling cooler air through the grille.

My new bumper is in paint, picking it up and, weather permitting, fitting Saturday afternoon. Looking at where the original air feed comes in I have an idea. Will mock it up first on the destroyed bumper

No no. It's in pain:D (or at least the old one is)
But I'm very curious what your intakemod is gonna be.
More (and especially cold) air is always better.

Has anyone ever just taking the old air box off and run the pipe straight to where the original pipe comes in and just sticking a cheap universal cone on the end?

Unless you put some sort of cowl around the whole cone, you're still sucking hot in air from the engine bay, whereas the orginal inlet is in the front panel and isolated from the engine bay.

That's what I was thinking bout doing. maybe even utilise the old box in some way.

Personally I think the 'Cooperman' mod is still the most cost effective and best sounding mod, a cone filter in the engine bay is pointless and the only other alternative is the BMC kit if your made of money.

I did the budget coopermod last night, the other bits haven't turned up yet. Today is when I get down and dirty with the cold air intake :)

Hi,

I have tried both standard airbox with my pipe mod and a cone filter with heat shield, I can safely say the original airbox setup is by far the best setup.
It's better for throttle response and fuel economy, the cone just sounds better but is slower :D

This was the cone setup I made

Yup, I have the Cooperman mod and it sounds awesome - when I can hear it over the exhaust!

I had a brand new custom stainless exhaust fitted yesterday. Ive already got a k&n panel in my air box so I think I will give your mod a go. What have you changed on the back section of the pipework?
