Tuning High lift camshaft question

Hello all!
I am looking to fit a ported head and a high lift cam to my 2005 Panda 1.2 8V.
Will the car need an ECU map to run this? or will the car be able to self learn and run ok?
I know power increase will be minimal.. but its mainly just shifting the power curve is what I am looking for.

Nope it will not relearn

The O2 sensors will adjust the fuel injectors

But the will not alter the timing

I suspect it will run but not produce any more power unless you have a remap

As an example, a 1.2 with a full race decat exhaust back to back on the same rolling road made something like 4hp and only at the top end, it would not be noticeable and is within the error of the rolling road


The engine with a custom ECU and race camshaft produces just over 100 bhp but will be worse for a road car and very expensive
