Technical Blanking off Half of Radiator in Panda Multijet Diesel

I have had my multijet 8 years now and have never heard the fan. I change the oil every year and always get the oil good and hot, and well mixed before changing it. Every time, I manage to get oil all over my fingers, it is not very hot, nothing like petrol engine oil temperatures. An adjustable blind in front of the rad would be nice. However, I believe that the temperature gauges are controlled to go to normal and stay there unless the engine temp rises above predetermined levels, so as not to worry drivers. Old cars gauges used to go all over the place, I recall.

My landy ran a lot better when I blanked off the egr, I totally pulled it off and welded a plate over the exhaust manifold, I was doing a transplant at the time.

I ordered a new valve of the 'bay, not an original pierburg, but this is an older motor.
Looking forward to having brusied knuckles changing this thing.

Looks like you've jumped threads Dr.P.
Unless you've got your egr connected to your radiator!
Hey, that's not a bad place for it.

Well, with minus temperatures arriving, I've blanked off the slots just above the number plate (as well as the opening under the plate that always stays blanked.).
Faster warmup, no overheating, less fuel use and better response from a happy engine.

I did this at the same time as fitting my winter steels - with a great set of winters on them. Just steel wheels, without trims. Looks a bit bare, but ready for the bad weather.
