My reliable old Panda sprung a leak two weeks ago, dribbling water down the driver's wheel. I figured it was the windscreen washer reservoir but took it to a garage to check. They pressurised the radiator / coolant system and emptied and filled the reservoir and cleaned out one of the water channels. It leaked the day later, and a day or two after that, but has been fine since - no leaks for over a week. The car hasn't overheated in the summer weather and there's still washer fluid in the reservoir.

Anybody else had this happen?

Hi,
not noticed this in the 10 years we've had our 1.1,

so it runs down the wheel..,

from the hub ( centre part.).??,
or getting on the tyre , and running all the way down..??,

Charlie
Hi Charlie,

It was running down the driver wheel and underneath, which is more or less where the windscreen washer reservoir is (as you know), but it's not done it for a few days so I wonder if the garage cleaning out all the nozzles has done the trick (they reckoned the windscreen washers were slightly blocked and it had backed up). As long as it's nothing more serious, I'm not bothered. It was running over the top of the wheel, by the way ....

Cheers
Nigel

Well eventually I had a garage check it out, and they couldn't find anything, but they thought it might be the gullies under the wipers collecting rainwater and running off through the engine compartment .... nothing's overheated or any such thing, so all is well ..... my Panda is ten years old now and I'm having the timing belt and water pump replaced at the next service, new gearstick gaiter and wheel trims .... away we go towards 70k ......
