Our panda 1.2 has a dripping radiator. It was coming out quite quickly but I have put some Rad seal in for now. Its now dripping say every 10 seconds or so as apposed to every second. I am guessing it will need a new radiator or at least a new radiator core fitting. How big a job is it ? Is it a garage job or would I be able to do it myself and whats involved i.e. do you get at the rad via taking the bumber off? What should it cost to do?

Can do it yourself fairly easily. If the car has AC its a bumper off job, if not you may manage with the bumper in place

This will give you an idea of the sort of price you are likely to pay for an OEM radiator.

Got my backside into gear today and ordered a radiator from a local supplier. Get it deliver to my mechanic in the morning and hopefully fitted tomorow afternoon. Radiator cost 48+vat . Mechanic says probably 2 hours labour so about 80 quid. Not too bad all in all at around £140 and at least I know it will be right for a long while rather than thinking it may go at any time.

Good call .

Much better to replace the radiator now than boil the car dry & have to fork out for a head gasket in the future.

The Panda is back complete with new radiator and running sweet as usual. Gonna service her in next few weeks too so she'll be good for another 12 months.
