As above...

I just changed the side-light bulb. I found the back a bit stiff to remove and now I can't get it back onto the headlight unit:mad:. The bottom lug just won't go into the hole. Anyone with any tips?

Finally got the bloody thing on... In the end decided to get husband's help as he's left-handed... The tip is to get the bottom lug in first. Feeling rather pissed off that it took an hour to do a five minute job, and it's now too late to start building the bookcase I nipped out to buy when the bulb blew...

Think next time I have a bulb to change I'll borrow the kid's little step stool so I can see in better! I spent far too long on my tiptoes trying to see in...

On the bright side, my knuckles are intact and the lights all work now.

Changing bulbs; building bookcases. Will you marry me?

:ROFLMAO:

The bookcase is now built... Nothing like a bit of therapeutic flat pack furniture building... I love it when it says that it requires two men when one diminutive woman can do it on her own!

Although I think that when it comes to bulb changing the next time, I'll change all the bulbs at the one time and replace them with something a little brighter. Think I've done well to have gone 7 years before the first bulb blew (especially when I have them on so much)! They're probably all on their last legs at this stage. I think it's time to go shopping! Need to replace the bulb I used from the spare bulb set anyhow...

It's odd how this area of design/execution has gone backwards. We've spent part of each year in Italy for 20-odd years and I always used to change the whole headlight units on my cars to suit - Alfa Giulia, Alfa GTV, Alfasuds, Fiat 131 Sport, Strada Abarth, Uno Turbo ie, Mk 2 Panda, Tipo, Cinquecento Sporting - I could swap the lights in about ten minutes on all of those; now it seems that it would be easiest to take off the front bumper/fairing on the 100HP. Progress?

(You've got me worried with your going shopping - may withdraw my offer.)

Well you may not having working headlights but your a lot more likly to survive a head on 35MPH smash with another motor.

Progress?.....Yes IMO, even if changing bulbs is a swine.

What will Mrs_babbo_Umbro say?

Mrs b_u is actually pretty competent in the DIY area - a couple of years ago, at 62, when she worked at Exeter University, she had a puncture on her Panda MJ. The students all looked helpless and asked her what garage she was going to ring up but her reply was, "Garage - don't be daft, I'll just change the wheel."

They're a reet bar-steward, aren't they?
I ended up filing down the curved plastic hinge/clip parts so they could be fitted more easily. With the application of a little anger the cover then went back on without too much trouble. The filing didn't affect the fit either, it was still secure.

Cheers.

Strangely enough when my boss got a flat in the work car-park, she by-passed the lads in the office and asked me to help... Had a couple of blokes look by while I changed the wheel and a few comments of good job. Used all my own tools too cause she had no idea as to where hers were, lol.

I was thinking about filing them down too...
