Hi I have a 1.4 100HP, today my panda whilst waiting at a junction the engine was "lumping" over I gave it some revs and afterwards she seemed fine, a little later whilst waiting in a que of traffic she again started to lump over to the point of almost stalling she just flagged up the engine light as she would do if she had stalled, agin I gave her some revs and she was fine. I took her to my local "trusted" garage and they said that it could be the EGR valve and it could be that it needs cleaning or might have to be replaced now I have had the car since I bought it in 2009 anyone have a clue to what it might be and if it is the EGR valve how easy is it to clean?

They're probably all off trying to Google for Panda 100HP and EGR valve ;)
When you mentioned your friendly garage you didn't say anything about error codes or their having checked for them. Dunno much about these things these days but the Lambda sensor seems to crop up with idle issues regularly.

My advice is to go to another garage, preferably an Italian specialist. You do not have an EGR valve on your car, so it is not that. You need to get fault codes to give a clue. Your problem could be lots of things, but is likely to be one of the engine sensors. Crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, lambda sensor or map sensor basically.

Touch wood i havent had a problem since that day and am going to wait until she goes in for a service to see if anything flags up when they check the car for faults on examiner

Ok Its seems that the the problem also reveils it self once the fuel is under half a tank it also hesitates at about 60 whilst getting the car up to speed to 70MPH (again this is when the fuel is under half a tank). When I was Idling in traffic my fuel was also under half a tank.
Could this be linked to the problem?

Well I bit the bullett and took my car to Desira in Norwich, there was no faults showing however they said that the air sensor was reading hot, they also said that I had a piece missing from the "cold air intake", which to be fair i had removed the plastically thing which linked the "cold air" air box hose to the grill as it was not securly fitted. This has been refitted and the ECU has been cleard and no fault showing, however even I can still notice a slight hesitation or It could be me as the car is getting to learn my style of driving, So i am giving it a couple of days to see if the fault is still there
