Punto (Mk2/2b) Mk2b Punto daily project

Introduction

Hey everyone, I would like to introduce you to my car. :)

I drive an 2003 Punto multijet and it's sort of a father and son project. We've got it to replace the sei we've had before and it's been in the family just over 2 years now. When I(we) bought it was bone stock and not well taken care off.

We've cleaned the whole interior to find out it was actually white not gray, changed the oil and filters. :)

It has air conditioning, power windows, power and colour coded mirrors, abs, adjustable steering wheel

Since I've loved cars since I can remember I couldn't help not to do something with the car. I had a deal with my father that I can do anything I want as long as I finance it and he will help me do it. I work part time as a student, sometimes even two jobs just to aford parts :D call me crazy but that's how I am.

In the two years we've had the car this is the mod list (not in actual order) that we've personally done(around 90%):
-Badgeless grille
-Matt black wrap on roof with the arial welded
-DIY black headlights with ccfl angel eyes
-Borbed 16 inch Abarth rims
-Sporting body kit
-mk2 hgt boot door with spoiler in matt wrap
-Alfa Romeo GT leather seats, front and back
-Subwoofer
-Coilovers
-DIY instrument cluster LED replacement
-Installed fog lights
-LED ambient light under the dash and front seats
-Mk2 leather steering wheel and shift knob
-Rear drum to Hgt disc conversion
-Tinted windows and taillights

That's pretty much it :)

Here are some pics how it looks now

They look great. I'm a massive fan of one of a kind Punto's :) and those rims are really one of a kind. I've got a sticker bombed centre console, but that's about it

I quite like your interior. Looks real nice. I was thinking of doing some stickerbombed details inside but I didn't want it to turn out over cluttered so I've kept it nice and clean so I've stickerbombed the whole bonnet from the inside hahah

I know what you mean! Too much sticker bombing can start to look tacky. I was thinking of doing the inside of my bonnet too!

Time for sam new updates :)

I'll start off with some bad news first

I was rear ended 2 weeks ago by a guy texting while I was waiting for the light to turn green

fortunately all the damage has been fixed and I've even done a few details while the car was at the body shop. The handles have been colour coded and the centre console has been painted white to match the original colour

Also I've bought the Hgt jtd instrument cluster and changed the leds into red and the dials into white

the white dials look way brighter in photos than in real life but I don't have a good enough camera to prove it

how much did they estimate on repairs?

rear bumper + rear door = 500 eur lololo, they used new original parts?

Yeah but the worst part is that I've managed to strike a deal to fix the damaged bumper and to get the console and door handles painted for free :)

Fiat parts are not that cheap here in Eastern Europe, but on the other hand they're one of the cheapest. You guys in the UK have almost free parts compared to us here haha

Yes I did :)

The bigger ring has an 15 cm outer diameter and a 13,5 or 14 cm inner diameter, the smaller ring has an13 cm outer diameter and a 11.5 cm inner diameter (y)

While I'm at the topic I've replaced the Espace lip with the Cupra lip and now it looks how I wanted it to look :)

Hello mate, you punto is looking so good ! Im really jealous haha but ciuld you do a tutorial on those lights please, the ones off the bmw

Could you do a tutorial on how to fit the ccfl rings and where did you buy the cupra lip from?

I've done the tutorial in the guides section for the mk2a/b Puntos.

I've bought the Cupra lip in my local Seat dealership. All Cupra lips I saw an ebay would end up costing me around 100€ with shipping and in my local Seat dealership I've bought it for 50€ with just a 5 minute drive to get there :)

Thanks for that :) and yes ive found some on ebay for seat, do you know what seat it was made for?

Seat Leon Cupra. I believe it was the mk1 but not sure. When I asked the guy at the dealership if they have Cupra lips he automaticly knew what I'm talking about because so many people buy them

Ok thanks bud, have helped alot, and you just bolt them on under the bumper?
