Hi all
Got an 05 1.3 family with 10500 miles on the clock when I drive and you get to about 2250 revs on the rev counter we get a noise from the engine sounds like the turbo is just starting to spin we also get it when slowing down has anybody else had this noise, the noise is not loud but annoying.

Could well indeed be turbo whistle or turbo whine at those kind of revs. It's very noticeable on the 1.9JTD when accelerating hard, in fact it gives you a grin on your face knowing that it's all working and your speedo is rising

More importantly, what kind of sound is it though? Had anyone else in the car to see what they think it is?

Hello , I think your noise is the same as on our 1.3, at 2000 rpm , it's a common noise just get used to it ? fiat don't have a cure....

its to do with the return feed on the fuel system... ... .... :nerner:

I've 25,000 on the clock on a 2005 and the noise is still there.... you will notice that the noise will change on how full your tank is ? and which fuel brand you use ? ...

its just part of the love owning a fiat (well its my 5th fiat)

I've clamped some jubilee clips to the send and return feed on the fuel system this has somewhat evened out the noise so to speak...

basically i've learned to live with it and your car isn't going to blow up...

hope someone hasnt put petrol in at any stage,it sits on top of the diesel so only makes a racket when tank is low.Probably not but leave petrol cap off at nights and it will evapourate
