Can anybody know if a blanking plate can be fitted to the EGR and if it will send the ECU itno a wobbly and end up with my dash looking like a christmas tree. I have taken the EGR off and cleaned it, but it appears to be a limited success, ie still not right. I also disconnected the multi pin to the MAF to see if it went better - it didn't and the injector warning light won't go off now.
And avice on that too?

If it needs to be a new EGR l have seen prices from £54 to £125 - seems the 1.9 JTD is the cheaper one - just my luck. Where is te best place to get one from.

Look forward to all replies

Best wishes

i blanked mine off decatted bought a power increase of fleabay returns well over 50mpg goes like a GT ... blanked off girlfriends doblo better mpg also .mike (y)

Hi Mike

Thanks for the reply

Decatted, did you take off the cat?
Will it not fail the MOT now?

Without sounding like a spare part at an Ann Summers party, which end of the EGR does the plate fit on?

The solid pipe to the right on top is the easiest option, or is it on the heat shield covered tube dropping below it, or does it not matter?

Last question... does the injector warning symbol come up on the dash?

Thanks again

150831741455 is part of ebay got my local garage to fit it,221206053257 blanking plate off flebay got a mechanic to fit took him minutes, he was doing other jobs on my car, best thing i did was this 250699824184 on flebay, light came on for a short time ,then went off, if you do all of the above you won"t care if theirs a light on . mike (y)

Thanks for that Mike
Understand what you say about light, this problem has made the car a bitch to drive.

Best wishes

What is the difference between the blanking plate with a central hole and one without? (Apart from a hole...)
Perhaps the hole allows enough gas through to keep the sensor happy that it's registering some pressure and not make it throw an error code/put the warning light on?

i can not emphasis enough how the Performance Box as transformed car, combined with egr plate and decat its easier to drive ive seen better mileage and will embarrass the odd boy racer my girl friend as same doblo without mods apart from egr plate . when i drive her car feels like its running bad[its not] so each time i drive mine the difference is so clear .... mike :yum:

Mike, I am currently weighing up the 'whether to / not to' blank my EGR on a '54 multi.

Ref your 'de cat' the one quoted is for a Doblo not a multi, so I guess I'd have to see if they do a multi one anyway.

But to reiterate question from above, if you 'de cat' , does that mess up the emissions / MOT as well?

Your blank plate ref is 'not found' neither is the last number quoted.

I didn't bother with ANY of the above, I simply opted for a remap.

Now, I have a two story car with enough power to keep up with an Audi A3 1.8 turbo as well as other stuff. The turbo kicks in at 1500rpm and keeps going past 4000rpm (I have never gone above 4500rpm).

The torque is phenominal and my mpg has gone from 31mpg around town to 42mpg (and still getting better) and on a run I get around 50mpg +

The problem with ebay power chips is most simply fool the ecu that it's cold, therefore delivering more fuel.

my doblo keeps up with 2.0 tdis ,returning 56.7 mpg goes like stink cost aprox 70£.excluding decat ,egr blank.if its only fooling the ecu its doing a real good job :D, can not see decat for multijet,,remap for multijet will give huge increase in power, upto 190bhp excluding new clutch, but whatever route you take is well worth it (y)

I like the way this thread is going!

My 120 multijet is a bit of a dog with EGR and DPF issues. EGR currently blanked off. Waiting on MOT regulations just to confirm if DPF is a visual check or electronic via OBD...

as regards Decat, Multijets models have dreaded DPF,so finding a Decat pipe was unlikely , once again whatever route you take you will be glad you did, some mapping company's can write out DPF while remapping, not cheap but in the long run cheaper than new DPF ,and there problems when they start to fail .Mike(y)
