Dunno why they would the overall radius is the same check here:

Although a bit wider, have never heard of anyone else whith that prob with standard alloys, yea the Bravo HGT arches are a bit bigger, and i'd imagine possible so are the Marea ELX 20v, your only going from a 185 to a 195, so not a huge jump up, have you checked that there isnt any wheel lining hanging down etc, perhaps jack the car up, axel stands and get a friend to turn both locks to see where its catching.

If you moved to 45's then speedo would be out by about 6.5% meaning your doing 54 mph when the speedo reads 60.

Bunny's bravo has the same problem with my ex marea alloys and 195/55R15 tyres. They rub on the front ocasionally. The way to resolve is to get 195/50R15 tyres (they're cheap too).

Likely the edge of the wheel will be rubbing against the front arch lining. The rear shouldn't be a problem so try changing the front tyres first - then you only need 2. Keep the tyres you have taken off to swap with the rear when they wear down.

Spacers won't help, they might even make it worse if it is the outside edge hitting the front arch lining.

not width, you want a lower profile, from 195/55 to 195/50
i have 195/50 on 15s (also original fiat alloys) and have no problems.

Also seen as no one's asked do you have your car lowered and if so by how much as they could be the cause, or a worn sprin/shock causing it to dip on one side. or at the fornt due to deceleration where cars weight is transfered to the front of the car.
