Dear All,

Please do excuse me if a similar thread has been made - I did attempt to search before posting though couldn't find anything relevant.

I've recently encountered an issue with my Fiat 500 TwinAir (2014 reg) Blue&Me connection. I've used my iPhone (previously 5S, now SE running the latest iOS) connected via USB for audio and charging in lieu of using the SatNav - I have the TomTom integration though never got on too well with it and prefer using Waze.

I've recently noticed that I'm getting the error message 'This accessory is not supported' when I plug in my phone. Bizarrely, it will usually interact with the device (audio, plus steering buttons work). However, the device will not charge at all. This was not previously the case with my 5S.

Obviously in these situations, Apple point to the car - Fiat point to Apple, etc. What I would say is that my phone is new and is running the latest operating system. I have also tested using another person's iPhone 6 and the same issue occurred, except they could sometimes charge. Furthermore, the phone will only communicate audio if I use an inauthentic cable and not Apple's own!

Just wondering if anyone has encountered any similar issues? I've also successfully updated Blue&Me to the latest version yet this made no difference.

All the best
MrS

Edit: Apologies if you feel this would be better suited to the Blue&Me forum. Feel free to move it if this is the case though I'm not entirely sure.

This may be down to something as simple as the power output of the USB port.

Fiat don't give their USB ports very much power ~500mA usually and the newer iPhones use fast charging options so that they will charge to 80% from empty or something like that, in about 30 minutes. It's likely due to the power output of the fiat the phone can't do this and so it decides it's not compatible.

Things to check, although it says it's not charging does the battery meter on the phone show any increase, a lot of Apple devices will still charge on low power just very slowly.

If it is simply the power output of the car port then there is nothing you can really do about it
