Hi everybody,

I bet nobody is on this forum from "back in the day" when I was an active member.

I am looking for some help please on my partner's 2010 Fiat 500 1.2 Pop. It has various little problems at the moment which I am trying to sort. Today the HP air con hose was replaced due to a leak. Next week it is having a new sump....sure these aren't problems for a 4-5 year old car!

One of the niggling faults is that the daylight running lights work fine. However, once the headlights are turned on and the low wattage filament is selected so that DLRs act as sidelights (5 W instead of 21 W I think?), the near side bulb goes off. I have replaced the bulb and tested using the offside and working bulb without any change/occasionally the nearside DLR doesn't work either.

To me this suggests a wiring fault or earthing problem. Does anybody have any recommendations on what to do next please? Unfortunately the wheel arch cover in this area was missing so I suspect corrosion is the fault. I have ordered a new cover but the horse has already escaped.

Thanks again,
Paul

P.s. I'm now a dab hand at removing and replacing this bulb.
