Technical Rear wiper problem

Having worked perfectly for nearly a year of ownership of my 2009 1.4 Sport, it started making a horrible graunching noise but worked. I stopped using it but every time I reversed with the front wipers on it came on. Now it’s stuck halfway up and no longer works at all.

Anyone else had this problem, don’t think it is anything to do with the hatch wiring as it was making a nasty noise before it failed.

How hard is it to fit a new one?

When mine broke the motor had seized! got a second hand one of e- bay ! you could detatch the wires and test for power with a multi meter!.

Bad noises are mechanical not electrical probably just need a replacement motor

Thanks both, that’s what I thought, just wanted to check there wasn’t another potential reason. I have ordered a 2nd hand one.
