Dealers selling their demonstraters? Fiat won't be happy about that at all!
They're not actually doing anything wrong by advertising them now.

Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't actually say the cars are available immediately. Anyone enquiring about them will be told they're not available until they're three months old...

...it's exactly the same as advertising new cars in the used cars section of Auto Trader - a way of generating enquiries.

Not as unhappy as they will be when they find out that Pewsham are advertising them for £300 below list.
Again, they're not actually doing anything wrong.

If they want to advertise cars at less than the 'list price' (which is only a Manufacturers Recommended Retail Price afterall) there is noting to stop them.

Yes, there will be people who want to buy a standard 1.2 Pop with no extras, no part-exchange and no finance, and I have no doubt they will be able to buy one for £7,600. But for every other customer Pewsham will get that £300 back from somewhere.

Again, it's just another way of generating enquiries.

Of course not ;)

But, in the case of the 500, they'll be shooting themselves in the foot if they do, as they won't be able to replace the demonstrator they sell.

From my experience here I dont need the car here to sell it.
we've pre-sold about 15 cars and still got 6-8 weeks before we see them.
Also, just leave the H on the clock of the new ones after PDI and use them for a demo ;)

Oh dont we sound like dodgy car salesmen! :slayer:

Obviously us Brits are a bit more careful with our money, and want to 'try before we buy'.

But, saying that, the majority of people that have ordered over here haven't driven one yet either.

Nothing we say or do is ever going to convince anyone we're not, so we may as well give them some ammunition! :p

The people here realise that to get another one after these have sold out they will be waiting 6 months (from build to delivery) so are getting in quick.
I also have a few guys expecting a waiting list so are buying a couple and selling one off as soon as it lands... big gamble but, i wont complain! haha

TBH i can only see the 500 as a good thing for FIAT, and for me more importantly! :D

I haven't seen that happening here yet, but I'm sure it is.

I totally agree.

It is bringing people back into the showrooms and getting them looking at the new range.

The 500 is good news for the Fiat brand as a whole.

In NZ we have struggled along with just 3 models in the Grande Punto so having the 500 come long is brilliant, we are finally getting a car that is attracting customers in.
The Bravo has just been released to so again, we have a little range here.
Great to have things to sell from too. up sell or even scale down. we have options to close people now!

Oh, and in 10 days we get the GP T-Jet!
Exciting times for FIAT in NZ!!! :D
