Removing Uno Seats

Does anyone know how to remove the front seats on a 3 door Uno? The tilt mechanism has me beat and I can't figure out how to disassemble it. Thanks in advance.

easy peasy [:o)]

on the front part where it is bolted to the floor (basicly under your legs when u sit in it) there are 2 bolts. unscrew them and the whole chair just kind of lifts out. you will have to fiddle around a bit to get it off its runners but otherwise its a very simple and quick job.

STEVE !!!! BE CAREFUL!!!!

At the back of each seat runner, on the inside, you will see a tab bent outwards from the runner. This is to limit the rearward travel of the seat and stop it coming out of the runners. You will need to tap this tab down until it is almost flush with the runner before the seat will pass. Remember that you will need to bend the tap outwards again when you re-fit the seat, so do not bash it down too hard.

WARNING. When you slide the seat assy backwards out of the runners, you risk tearing the carpet, so either have an assistant with you or tape the carpet down at the rear of the runners. Take a good look and you will see what I mean.

WARNING. When removing the seat, if someone has oiled or greased the runners in the past, the carpet get soiled. be ready for this possibility.

Rgds, Pete.

Pete, many thanks for that. I tried again last night and it had me beat again. I couldn't understand why the seat wasn't just sliding off the runner. I'll wait until the weekend when I can see what I'm doing in daylight.

Thanks again.

I won't go forwards at all. It's restricted by the floor of the car. I was ready for taking a hammer to it last night. The seats were both stuck fast. B)

when i changed to seats in my uno, it took 2 people to do it.

this is the way i did it:
push seat back far as possible
undo bolts that make the seats tilt, then push it all the way forward, so it sits virtually on the floor.

Then:
Get big hammer:D, whilst holding bar to make seat go backwards an forwards, get someone to hit runners, hopefully seat should move forward a bit at a time.

There much easier to get back on, just rememeber tub of vaseline to make things a bit easier

Seicento Sporting,
Modified Front Bumper,
GT Wing Roof Spoiler - NOW STOLEN,
Abarth Side Skirts,
4" Powerflow Exhaust System,
Standard Alloys...oops.
WANTED:Nice set of 14" or 15" Alloy Wheels PM Me With Any Info
