What's made you smile today?

Got up really early this morning & refitted the airbag module after getting it back yesterday & everything is now all good with no lights on the dash so have took it out today to double check it's all good which it is so Luigi is now all fit & healthy again, I've decided that next year I'll be dropping the rear subframe & re painting it as it's still alright but starting to look a bit scabby in areas, I'd rather keep an original part than put in a poor fitting pattern part a few years down the line, I have some upcoming plans for the Panda

1) my dad is going to be giving me a set of 131 Mirafiori Sport wheels he's got laying around so they'll look quite good on the Panda in gunmetal with a set of 185/60/14 tyres on them, he's told me I'm not having the centre caps though as they're rare so will have to get my own 😂
2) redo the Panda badge on the badge as it's wearing away a bit, thinking red to go with the roof bars & mirror covers

Nah dont muck about. Noop has just black lettering on his badge. Im considering gold leaf!

Dropiing the axle is a bot extreme, can you give it a real good clean and treat in situ... You make me feel even more tired than I already do. I always look at your red mirrors and bars and think they are a different colour to mine. More restrained shade of red. Or is is just different cameras I wonder.
Im glad the airbag is sorted, things like that are stressful. It is a bit much it giving trouble at such a young age. After all these safety thing are supposed to work and for the life of the car.

I have 3 axles to attend to again this ear and Im not looking forward to it.

My lettering is like chrome effect but it's wearing off going black, I think it's probably different cameras as my pics are usually taken on my phone not with a proper camera, I could treat it in situ but I'm thinking get it down, rub it all down & paint it with some really decent stuff, put some copper grease on the bolts & forget about it for years 😂 & also i'll redo the rear brakes as well whilst I've got it all out, I'm one of these that once I usually get an idea in my head I'll carry it out, eventually lol 😂😂, my old man will be there to help me with it as I said to him about doing it & he's all for it as he has changed them & said they're quite easy compared to most cars & I've heard from my dads Fiat specialist mate that most of the aftermarket ones are quite a poor fit so I'd rather avoid that for as long as I can, I agree the safety stuff should work & last the life of the car, hopefully now it's all done I won't get anymore trouble with it 🤞

I had the ankle cast taken off today. And no hard cast, I'm back in the boot. Even though I'm stuck with it for the next four weeks and cannot put weight on it, I can take it off to sleep, shower, and while sitting on my butt in my EZ chair. I'm a side sleeper and I've been stuck sleeping on my back for the last 4.5 weeks. I'm still going to be on the couch in the living room but now Buster can stick his cold nose in my eye instead of my ear when he wants out at 5am.

I had the Panda parked at work yesterday & I was taking a bag of rubbish out, there was an elderly couple eyeing up Luigi so I went over & started talking to them, it turned out they were huge Fiat enthusiasts who have owned nothing but Fiat's, they had a Panda Pop & they wanted roof bars but wasn't sure which ones to get, so I told them there's 2 different types to which they need to get the ones for cars without roof rails, they were very grateful as they stated they'd asked Halfords who wasn't sure on which ones would fit, so that was my good deed for the day 😁

My state pension started last month. So I've received one payment so far. Now I've received a letter advising of an increase.
I would like to thank all of you still working, for your contributions. It is much appreciated.
Yup, but don't forget all the contributions you've made during your working life that have benefited others in turn.

I have a brand new set of roof rails, if anyone wants them for a sensible offer.

I was able to undress, shower, and get dressed with no help from Mrs.Cheest this morning. That means I didn't have to listen to her crab about doing it. Jeez, the only help I needed was getting the one sock off and on, along with the boot. Since I've been able to get outside and move around, I've loosened up a bit and can stretch a bit farther. (y)

I have recently decided to stop taking statins. I have been feeling quite awful for months, most of the time in fact since my kidney operation last year. I was only saying to my better half that I reckon Ive only felt just about OK, just about, 1 day in 90 since that date. Today I have walked the dog and Mrs fro a couple of miles, got rid of the hedge I took out last autumn, cleaned out the green house and started sowing this years plants. I just said to my Mrs that I am feeling substantially better. I now need to revisit the doctors and inform them what I have done.... I hate those visits. My neighbour had the same issues with loss of energy and muscular power combined with quite sever muscular aches. It was he who suggested my symptoms sounded simialr to his, He was told he was 1 in 100,000. I suppose we can together say anyone else in Breckland will be oK as we are now the 2 in 100,000. Is that 2 lots of 100,000? Any way I just said to my Mrs I had forgotten almost entirely what normal felt like. So today is a big smiley day as while not perfect I feel a whole lot more like normal.
Read this, don’t just quit statins in one go…
I’ve been on them for about ten years now and had all that pain, tiredness, numbness etc…turned out not all statins are the same, took three attempts over months to get one that suited me but, on investigation, pain turned out to be arthritis

Thanks. Its all tied up with my kidney op where the kidney was 10X its normal size. Its left quite a hole and they made such a mess doing the op I have what looks like a massive hernia. Its is so bad I cant wear my Keep calm drive a Panda shirt as the slogan sits neatly on my side. I now wear a back support which is an elastic gaget which holds me together and helps, but my back aches from the muscle disruption and the statins definitely make it much worse. Nurse told me to stop a few weeks back but them restarted me after a month. Pain returned over 6 weeks Its a whole hell of a lot better without statins. My neighbour says he has been swapped onto a new Japanese alternative that has become available of the NHS on the last few weeks. Im waiting to see if it works before going to discuss it. He like me and you, and I suspect many others suffered the pains that are supposed to be super rare. Apparently there are more than 1 type of cholesterol and statins get rid of the bad stuff and the beneficial stuff.

But hell "Trust me Im a DOCTOR"

Good stuff. I hope Mrs Cheest is doing OK too. Tough times for you both.

I remember when I bought mine about 3 years ago, I got them cheap compared to retail as they were new old stock as retail price the red ones are over £300, not sure why the different colours are different prices, must just be a Fiat thing 😂, I paid £130 delivered old stock of some company who does 500 stuff but they were all sealed up & never been out the box & then got the matching mirror covers about a week later

Yesssssss!! I paid £70 for the rails, £120 for the Westfailia detachable towbar and £94 for the cross bars. I spent a whole lost of time on the internet searching though so £25K in labour. It does show that some of these things can be had for a more reasonable price. Bargains come along if you are ready to pounce. The roof bas needed the keys giving a real good wire brushing. The locks wouldnt work as the keys were rough and sharp. I think the lady selling thought they were no goo and just wanted rid of them. Only took 10 mins to sort them. I paid £30 for the Bravo CHromed mirror caps which were liste in sewing machine parts. I suspected the auction might yield a good result and it did. I thimk the bumper protection was£18 and the sill protectors about £34. Even at £130 its a hell of a saving. I htink the roof raisl were around that, but they were in an odd place on eBay again and tehy dropped to £90 so I offered £70 and got away with my cheek.

Its worth searching under various headings and also being specific and seeing what is around.

Parents afternoon at the school...

My son is where he needs to be..which isn't exactly a massive thing but for him it is.

He was lockdown kid, so missed a huge amount of socialising and as a result was a long way behind by the time he went to nursery also only really interacted with adults as children weren't allowed to play together and he was an only child.

There's been all sorts, through speech therapy, appointments with specialists, my wife whose glass is always half empty on this sort of thing in tears on multiple occasions. 3 years of just waiting on the next appointment and what it would bring.

So him catching up..is great news indeed.

Now if only we could get him to stop barging in playing a guitar at 6am we'd have it sorted..

I got all my stuff for the Panda as well going through eBay, deals on sites such as Mopar Store, Partsworld

1) Squircle decals £68 from Mopar Store 20% off sale
2) Rear Bumper protector £15 from Rufford Supplies in Warrington
3) Coat Hangers £20 each from also from Rufford Supplies in Warrington
4) Short Aerial £11 of eBay
5) Rear Cargo net for boot £20 from Pentagon
6) K way hubcaps £16 set of 4 from Partsworld
7) Genuine sill protectors £60 off eBay, spare set sourced for £15
8) Genuine Panda boot liner £35 off eBay, this was my first purchase for the Panda
9) Genuine Rear bumper scuff protector, I think £15 from Rufford Supplies Warrington
10) Genuine Panda red roof rails new old stock off eBay £130, fitted stainless bolts instead of supplied ones
11) Genuine Panda pair of red mirror covers £35 I think from Burrows in a clearance sale
12) Genuine Fiat back seat organiser for 500L & Tipo but fits the Panda £12.50 from Arnold clark
13) Red boot pull strap of eBay £5.99
14) Panda pillar badges I think £30 in sale on Partsworld
15) Genuine 500 Italian flag wing badges £20 of eBay
16) Genuine Panda personality kit £20 of eBay
17) Armster armrest brand new in box 99p of eBay
18) Automotiva door mouldings £50 from Automotiva site
19) DAB stereo with new speakers, wiring adaptors & aerial around £225 roughly
20) pressed number plates with Fiat/Abarth surrounds about £50

I'm sure there's more but it's not coming to me right now without going through all the receipts 😂, but I know I've spent around about £800 on the Genuine Fiat stuff which if I'd have bought them from the dealers at full cost it would have been around double that amount so I've done quite well I think 😂

New water pump and old water pump side by side, the new one came as part of a gates cambelt kit with a new tensioner.

Now which one do we think will move more water and also which one do we think would be a better quality and more expensive
